Summer Lifeguarding jobs
Lifeguarding is a great summer job for high school and college students as well as teachers and retirees. For those who are not yet lifeguard certified, High Sierra Pools offers American Red Cross certification courses, the first step toward a position as a certified lifeguard. For those who already hold a current lifeguard certification, HSP offers our applicants a variety of lifeguarding employment choices — including indoor and outdoor pools with different sizes, location and working hours. We also offer on-site training at each of our swim facility. Year-round Lifeguarding opportunities
High Sierra Pools hires lifeguards year-round, offering competitive pay for full-time, part-time and flex-hour employment at indoor pools in Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, and Massachusetts. The local lifeguard jobs High Sierra offers vary from small single guard pools to larger pools at fitness clubs, hotels, retirement communities, and apartment buildings. That means, as a swimming pool lifeguard working for High Sierra, you can choose a local lifeguarding job that works with your scheduling needs. Full-time employees are eligible to participate in the our medical, dental, and vision plans.
Rules and requirements
In compliance with state and federal child labor laws, High Sierra Pools has the following age requirements:
Virginia: A limited number of lifeguard positions are available at multi-guard facilities for applicants aged 15 years. The remainder of the state’s lifeguard positions are available to applicants who are 16 years and older.
Maryland: Lifeguards at most outdoor multi-guard facilities must be at least 16 years of age on or before their first day of work. A limited number of lifeguard and gate guard positions are available at selected facilities for applicants aged 15 and older.
All states: Applicants for indoor pools and single-guard pools, as well as pool manager or supervisor positions, must be at least 18 years of age.
